Who else likes Bülent Ersoy?

bülent ersoy is one of the best voices in Turkey(for sure) but she has to be careful while speaking at live programes.

Basically it is a transsexual, came to England to have it done as at the time it was not accepted in Turkey. He was a singer actor at the time and then became a bit reclusive, became depressed and tried to commit suicide If I remember rightly.
Then he went back (oh sorry) she went back to Turkey when the laws changed and carried on as a performer, but unfortunately a sex changes does nothing to improve the voice! She still has a mans voice. So there you have it in a nutshell, no doubt someone will point out if I have gone wrong!

Not at all really. Since Bülent hanım reached maturity as a man, all the lowering of the voice associated with that time has happened, and hormones won't undo it, any more than it will make a mature face back into a baby face. (When a woman takes male hormones, the voice will lower though...I watched a musician friend go through this many years ago and it was....nothing if not interesting!)
Besides I think she's quite content with her voice and doesn't try to "sound like a woman" when singing.

Yes, let's. One day, when speaking with Bülent hanım, a reporter made the VERY unfortunate mistake of addressing her as "Bülent bey" and was read the riot act!
